Growing up in Northern Virginia is intense
Here, kids are measured early. If you didn’t start the sport in elementary school, chances are you won’t make the team in high school. If you don’t hire a tutor, your kid is already behind on their GPA. Some teens push themselves to exhaustion. Others feel stuck and unmotivated. Either way the weight affects the whole family. Parents feel it too.
Big feelings are part of life, but when they take over, they can throw everyone off balance. Teens feel unheard. Parents feel frustrated. Families feel stretched thin. Add in life transitions— friendship changes, college decisions, divorce, grief, or loss—and emotions can spiral.
That’s when it helps to have someone who knows this world in their corner.
At Teen Talk Counseling in Fairfax, VA, we offer collaborative support for every stage of growing up, helping teens, young adults, and parents find steadier ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
Do you accept insurance?
We currently accept Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareFirst, and Tricare.
Some Tricare plans (particularly Tricare Prime) require a referral from your PCM in order to receive the highest level of coverage for services.
If we do not accept your insurance, you may still be able to utilize out-of-network benefits. We’re happy to explain next steps and answer insurance-related questions during your consult call.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You can contact your Fairfax therapist directly, call us, or use your Jane account. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) will incur a $75 cancellation fee, though we understand life happens and will consider individual circumstances.
How do I know if therapy is right for my child?
You don’t need to wait for a crisis. If your teen or young adult is feeling anxious, overwhelmed, unmotivated, or disconnected, therapy at Teen Talk Counseling in Fairfax, VA, can help them gain insight, confidence, and real-world tools to feel better and move forward.
Do you offer therapy for parents, too?
Yes. Supporting young people often means supporting their parents, too. We offer both parent consultations and individual therapy in Fairfax, VA, for parents navigating the challenges of raising teens or young adults.
How long does therapy usually last?
It depends on your goals. Some clients benefit from short-term support during a tough transition; others stay longer to work through deeper emotional patterns. We’ll regularly check in about progress and make sure therapy is helping, not just ongoing.
